MASTIC GUM

Mastic Gum (Pistacia Lentiscus) comes from the trees of 24 Mastic villages in South Chios, Greece where it has been used for hundreds of years. The mastic extraction process involves a small cut in the tree which yields a small ‘tear’ of mastic gum.

GINGER

Ginger powder comes from the root of the ginger plant. The Ginger used in this product is standardised to contain high levels of gingerols; the active ingredient in Ginger. Ginger is also naturally high in Magnesium, Chromium and Zinc. Zinc is a necessary cofactor in the carbonic anhydrase enzyme that is involved in the stimulation of hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

BETAINE HCL

Betaine hydrochloride is betaine bound to hydrochloric acid. Hydrochloric acid is naturally produced in the stomach where it aids the digestion of proteins by denaturing the protein; making it easier for the enzyme pepsin to break them down further. Hydrochloric acid is also important to kill off harmful micro-organisms that may enter the stomach from food.

PAPAIN

Papain is a proteolytic enzyme which is naturally found in pineapple and involved n the breakdown of proteins.
